2 SKINNEE J'S

This rap-metal band with a perfect mix of hip-hop, rock, funk and pop culture  has been influenced by the likes of 311 and Rage Against the Machine.  The band formed in 1990 from in and around Columbia University in New York City, the six-man group hailing from various cities across the U.S. and Canada.  They went through more than a few changes before the present lineup was settled upon in 1996, releasing four independent CD's before signing with Capricorn records in 1997. The band's relentless touring (they have performed over 1,200 gigs in the last six years) and their self-released CD's, Return of the New and Improved and Sing, Earthboy, Sing, built a large and loyal fan base throughout the U.S. Both their subsequent releases on Capricorn records have been big hits enhancing the group's profile and popularity.
