BLASTMAT

Blastmat is a politically motivated hardcore metallic punk band from East Hartford, CT comprised of ex-members of Sanity Assassins, Stitch, and the White Pigs, featuring Philip Swanson on vocals, Andy Reitano on guitar, Keith Donaldson on bass, and Ed LaGraize on drums.  Philip, Andy and Keith came together when Philip joined up with the Sanity Assassins for a string of live shows throughout the New England area in early 2001.  When personal problems forced the drummer out of the the Sanity Assassins Philip and Andy soon followed after difficulties arose in filling the open drummer slot.  While auditioning members for Blastmat, Philip and Andy came upon Ed LaGraize who blew them away with his eclectic style and immense ability.  Now with a bass player missing from the line-up it seemed only natural to contact Keith Donaldson of the now defunct Sanity Assassins to see if he would be interested in such an affair, and he was  eager to take part.  Influences of Blastmat include Discharge, Motorhead, Misfits, AC/DC, GBH, and the Ramones.
