BODEANS High school friends Sam Llanas and Kurt Neumann, both hailing from Waukesha, Wisconsin formed the BoDeans in 1985. The bands roots-rock sound tempered with a twangy guitar and touch of funk, along with their earnest live performances, quickly endeared them to a loyal local following. They released their first album, Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams (the title comes from the Rolling Stones song Shattered"), in 1986. Their second release, Outside Looking In, provided the breakthrough. This propelled them comfortably into the Top 100 and they joined U2 on tour. In 1987 they were named Best New Band by Rolling Stone magazine. They came to the wider publics attention in 1995 when, the power pop ballad, Closer To Free, from the album Go Slow Down, was used as the theme for television series party of five. After the release of Blend in 1996, Llanas and Neumann pursued solo projects. They reunited in the new millennium and have embarked on an extended US tour. DISCOGRAPHY:
