DROPKICK MURPHYS The hardcore punk outfit Dropkick Murphys formed in 1996 in Boston, MA. Mixing hard-edged punk rock with their Irish folk influences, they were soon playing the local Boston club scene, opening for Murphy's Law, the Misfits, and Offspring, amongst others. After a series of EP releases, the band released their debut, Do Or Die, in 1998 and by 2000 had expanded from a quartet to a septet. They were soon touring all over the US and the world growing in popularity and acclaim. Their third album Sing Loud, Sing Proud, featured collaborations with ex-Pogues leader Shane MacGowan.
