FAR TOO JONES

There's Drivin' & Cryin', The Connells, and endless other great bands from the Southern college music scene that both critics and fans loved. Yet somehow these great talents never quite managed to break out of their region.  Occasionally there were groups like REM and DMB who did just that, and if there's any justice in this pop-crazed world we live in, Far Too Jones' musical careers will identify more with the latter groups.  This Raleigh, NC-based band does power-pop roots rock better than anyone out there right now.  A LEFT OFF THE DIAL review of FTJ's latest effort, Shame & Her Sister, is found below.

NEWS:
To many a loyal fan's disappointment, Far Too Jones recently announced that it will be breaking up citing that the band "cannot record, tour, or promote [itself] in a manner worthy of [its] history or, more importantly, [its] fans, without label support." I am so angry, but I won't go into a rant about how tainted the recording industry is.  If you've found your way to this page then you probably feel the same way.  To read more about why the band decided to call it quits and to find out about some farewell tour dates, click here
