GONER

Rising primarily from the shadows of Raleighs indie pop quartet The Boy Wonder Jinx, Goner create music that is full of heartbreak and hope, wisdom and youth, struggle and release. Their debut CD, Dollar Movie,  contains a collection of songs that combine pop sensibility with the personal tone and attention to detail of a singer-songwriter. While several of the tracks have a considerably aggressive bite, the overall subtlety and thoughtfully adventurous arrangements suggest a band thats looking to truly explore studio recording as its own art form. In addition to the standard keys-bass-drums set up, Goner use piano, accordion, guitar (acoustic and electric), toy instruments, effects, a drum loop, and alternate percussion (coffee can & empty bottle). It all comes together to make Dollar Movie an experience that is exuberant, heartfelt, and cinematic in scope.
