The Heavenly States: King Epiphany (single)
[Baria]

Protest pop?  Why not?  Though some may find the words of this one-off single a bit too direct and oddly juxtaposed with the whoo-hoo-hoo chorus, it is what it is, and I suppose the band should be cut some slack for wanting to bitch about things that are so obviously fucked up these days.  (Besides, theres a much slower second take on the song in the form of a hidden track if you like.)  They sound pretty good too, like their contemporaries The Thermals, who also write rousing, melodic pop-punk.

Still, Olivers Army it aint. Theres something to be said for cleverness after all.
