Hrududu Factory: Songs from the Burrow EP
[Shmat]

Ever since I popped this CD into my player, Ive been debating on how to review it. Hrududu Factory is the brainchild of a rabbit named Tharn. Thats right. He lives in a burrow in Alhambra, California where he uses, Im assuming, tiny rabbit-sized guitars, drums, mics, and (why not?) kazoos. The image of a rabbit band singing about tractors and carrots must bring a smile to the face of all but the most hardened rocker. Songs From The Burrow is filled with peculiarly cute melodies and lyrics. It may sound childish, but it manages to be not only fun to listen to, but musically profound as well. It seems that in this rabbit lives the faint glimmer of R.E.M. The chords changes are very well done, and overall, the music is well-produced. Not bad for a tiny rabbit studio. The only disappointment in the album is that I worry so much creativity is being wasted on what can only be truly considered a novelty album. I look forward to the day Tharn decides to shed his cute rabbit mask, and gnaw out an album as a human. Until then, Ill listen to Hrududu Factory and marvel at what was created by a rabbit in a burrow.
