Hybrid Kid: Self-Titled EP
[Sugarfree]

Theyve got great songs in Dropped (imagine the call-to-arms anthems of early Live, less the call-to-arms) and Cotton Head, where hypnotic guitar jangle meets infectious and oddly-suited chorus (given the rest of the material here): Sometimes we arrive/But mostly youre just driving.  This only makes for half a good EP.  Hook and Isthmus meander around some interesting sounds and never quite find their way.  When Danny Lloyd has something to wrap his Alex Chilton/Ed Kowalczyk hybrid around, hes worth your ears.

If they can muster enough good material an LP would be welcomed.
