Kid Icarus:
Map of the Saints
Oh Kid Icarus, eh? I LOVED that game growing up. That game was so freaking RULESOME! This album is going to be so freaking cool. Maybe its an album homage of the game! Or maybe its the story of that game! Or maybe its the music of that game! That would rule. Oh. Its not. Okay, well, its still a cool name. These guys are gonna rule, because anyone whod name their band Kid Icarus has got to be cool. Cause people who play video games are always cool! Okay not always cool. But smart! Definitely smart! (looks at the GameFAQs Forums) Well maybe not smart Bah! Whatever! This album has potential based solely on its name. Lets give it a listen. Well this is cool. Sounds like an airplane taking off, only with guitars! Ive heard it before, but every album Ive heard that on has rocked! Must be a big buildup to the kicking of some asses! Yeah! This is gone rule! Oh. Songs over. Hmmm. Hmmmmmmmmm. Okay, I see what theyre going for. Reminds me of Sonic Youth. I see. Wait a minute. When did we go acoustic? Sounds like something else Ive heard. Not Sonic Youth taking off in an airplane though. Sounds like hmmm. Oh well, that songs over. Wait a minute. Didnt this song just play? (checks track, name) oh. Same song. Why the uncomfortably long pause there? Why are they repeating the same lines again? Why did they just play the same two minutes of song over again WITHIN THE SAME TRACK?! New song now. Oh look, the airplanes back. Wait, now Sonic Youth IS on the airplane. This must be turbulence. What are they, in space all the sudden? Reminds me of 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEEEEEEEY (echo effect). Trippy. Trip-like. Airplaney, too! What is this one? Vocal harmonies? Sounds like its got some pote DEAR GOD! Stop singing! Oh lord, my ears. Oh no please someone tell him he has no pitch. Doesnt this guy have any friends or loved ones to protect him from believing he can sing well? Reminds me of that WB Superstar show maybe this IS that. Oh man, that was mean. What an asshole you are, Jon. Heh. Well, that songs over. More of that. I wonder when the airplane will land oh, this song has airplane in the lyrics. Those lines didnt rhyme sigh Note to self: Please do NOT go into a review with any expectations of a band. Especially unfair expectations. But most especially, reasonable expectations. Also, NO expectations whatsoever. Kid Icarus Maps of the Saints: More of the same, done better elsewhere.
