THE MAYFLIES USA Four Chapel Hill, NC friends formed The Mayflies USA in 1996. The band shared a love of 60s British pop, and the indie rock of Superchunk, Teenage Fanclub and Elliot Smith. They were soon creating their own unique brand of pop rock. Hook-laden, guitar-driven and melodic tunes fill their albums. They released their self-titled EP in 1997, and their first full-length album in 1999 to much critical acclaim.
