Mikki James: Guess What...
[Xemu]

Explosive, high-energy music with a slight twist of comedic lyricism is what you can expect from the new release by Mikki James, Guess What Hearing this album will send you spiraling back to the carefree days of hair metal, babes and booze.   Mikki James is not here to change the world; hes just here to have one hell of a good time.

With the opening track, Hand on the Goose, the band comes out strong and loud with a solid rock fashion that will have you begging for more.  Mikki James music is not complicated, and its not contrived.  Riffs and hooks are simple, leaving plenty of room for the band to deliver its frenzied appeal.  The energy driven by the music is what pulls you in keeps you partying until the break of dawn.  Patterns of hyper-insane guitar riffs and whirlwind drums mark the style of Guess Whatand I personally wouldnt want it any other way.

Considering this barrage of hyped up rock, its hard to imagine that one track might stand above the rest, but Mikki James has come up with it.  Thanks to its sophomoric lyrics and a cleverly simple riff, the title track is the obvious standout.  The power delivered by this song will have you on your feet and screaming the chorus. Who can deny the appeal of the statement guess what, fuck you repeated over and over again?

I truly enjoy hearing bands like this one.  They seem to have no other agenda than to entertain, whether the audience is a packed bar, or just themselves.  The recording is clean, the music is captivating, and even though they may not ever hit the big time, the energy is undeniably contagious.
