MILO After the recent break-ups of many great Southern college bands, it is encouraging to know there are still some bands out there who believe in their music enough to try and beat the odds. And believe in their music, Milo should. These boys from Chapel Hill carry a fresh sound that has been described as a mix of Pearl Jam's rock and Radiohead's experimentation. Starting out in 1998, originally as the Paper Heroes, Milo has evolved into a notable local act, even winning the UNC-Chapel Hill Battle of the Bands in spring 2000. A LEFT OFF THE DIAL review of the Milo EP, Even If You Knew The Language, is found below. Milo released this statement 8/17/02: "After 4 years as a band, Milo will be playing its last two shows. The first will be in Carrboro at Go! Studios this Friday, August the 23rd. The final show will be in Fayettville, NC at Duh! Skatepark on Saturday, August the 24th. The reason for the break-up is that Tim Smith and Trey Bailey are going to move to San Diego to grow up and be big boys. However, we are still going to record one more
album. We start recording the 25th of August with Robert Sledge producing. We'll
let you know when the recordings are done and if you would like a copy, just let
us know and we will send you one. It should be out around October/November.
