Mon Electric Bijou: If Blood Could Speak
[Matchbox]

Mon Electric Bijou were influenced by The Replacements, Kraftwerk, Johnny Cash I could go on because Bijou certainly does, at length, with a total number of 14 mentioned influences.  With this kind of build up, do I need to listen to the album? With so much influence, how can the album not sound the way it does in my mind right now? Which by the way isnt great Im totally not rocking out at all.  Oh and the lead singer goes by the moniker, The Saz.  His full name is Martin Saz, and I certainly hope that the album is better than the one I have made up in my head, in order to carry such an egotistically grand nickname.

It should be mentioned that Mon Electric Bijou has two other members, Martin Guilbo and Jason Sanchez.  These three Canadians have put together a record of mediocre music and even less accomplished vocals.  The best track on the album is the title track If Blood Could Speak with the repeated line Dont you want me now  This song has the kind of build up to the point of explosion that rocks, even though the explosion itself is a bit weak.

In the end, Mon Electric Bijou is a pretty rad band name for what I think would best be called a prog rock band, if I was to categorize them at least.  There is just something missing here and I cant quite figure if it is the vocals or maybe the so-so music.  Perhaps when they get their website up and have audio on it, you can check them out for yourself.  I, for one, havent been sucked in by them and wouldnt recommend it.
