After winning one of musics most prestigious awards, the VH-1s Rock Across America Songwriting Contest, Satellite Bishops front-man Bart Van Bemmel decided the time was right to set out on his own.  Bart Van Bemmel doesnt exactly have a music-biz ring to it, so he calls himself Owen Bishop.  His debut single, Swan Dive, would be the perfect music for a slow-motion montage in your favorite teenage television drama.  Slow, semi-acoustic, and melodramatic.  If you own the Dawsons Creek soundtrack, then this sort of sappy lite pop might be right up your alley.  The other 99.9% of the listening public would do better to stick their ears elsewhere.  Its hard to judge an artist by only one song, but I have a feeling that anything else from this guy is just going to be more of the same.
