The Peabodys:All out of You
[Bling Bling]

Kids, take it from me. Precision is everything, even in the world of music shopping. I decided to request this bands album to review based solely upon the name. Oops. Guess I got these slow-rocking screamo babies instead of the band, Those Peabodies. Please learn from my stupid mistakes rather than making your own. It will only cause you pain.

Cautionary advice aside, the 2003 release from The Peabodys raises an interesting question. What kind of a band would actually proclaim, We wont rock you in their liner notes? Answer: The Peabodys. And let me tell you, after listening to The Peabodys All Out Of You, I can attest that these men are all about keeping their promises.

The Peabodys attempt some sort of early Green Day pastiche on most tracks. This isnt really a crime in and of itself. Bratty pop punk lite has its time and place. However, that would be junior high. This album does not offer much for mature listeners, as it lacks a distinct and original style. Any of the tracks could be from some not-so-hot artist on a Hopelessly Devoted To You compilation. The lack of originality and blatant emo-ness of the whole venture might be excusable to certain listeners, but a major hindrance for this album is that it is 22 tracks long. If you are going to listen to some mediocre boy pseudo-punk drone, at least try to keep it brief so that your neighbors in the next apartment over dont have to be too burdened by your poor taste in music.

Take it from The Peabodys: if you dont want to be rocked, or musically challenged, because the same ol shtick is good enough, then this is the album for you.
