Restraining Order: Five on Green EP
[self-released]

If theres anyone out there feeling a little nostalgia for the comedic pop/punk sound of groups like the Dead Milkmen, you are definitely in luck!  Restraining Orders latest EP release, Five on Green, will surely satisfy your needs.

Through the coarse vocal style of Jason Rubin, this Philadelphia bands music rings clear and clean.  Their catchy sound relies heavily on intense drumlines, saxophone interludes and an endless supply of sarcastic lyrics. The main message from this band is that theyre having one hell of a good time.

Unlike most popular bands these days, Restraining Order doesnt hide behind a guise of cryptic lyrics or an overly complicated writing style.  And its this level of simplicity that truly adds to their appeal.  Even with this straightforward style, the gentlemen of Restraining Order often push the limits of composition to a point that equals the oddity of their song topics.  Earthly Liquids hits you as a tribute to pirate/punk rock mixed with an interlude of the 70s ballad style.  The track is complete with the juxtaposition of gritty shouting voices against moments of crooning vocals and chimes.  From begging for love in Be with Me to the politically correct storytelling of My Girl Wont Recycle, this band will keep you smiling.
