Sugababes: Three
[Universal]

Lets start with a quote, Im packin all the flavors you need set to the rhythmic beat of a drum machine, sung by three young gals yes, you guessed it, the Sugababes (eck!), a euro dance trash ensemble.  They sing about sex, boys, being chicks, more sex & boys and clubs.  Their latest effort, entitled Three (which I am sure someone thought was incredibly clever since there are three members) is complete air.  It is fluffy and simple.  It is very reminiscent of Ace of Base or Aqua of Barbie Girl fame. 

I am not sure what it is about this brand of pop music in Europe.  It seems to me like there is really no goal with these groups of barely legal teenage girls except to sell some posters and maybe have a hit single.  The Europeans LOVE crappy dance music, something that I feel has set them apart for quite some time now.  It is a stigma; it is such a stigma that these girls were nominated this year at the Brit Awards for Best New Band or something, only to lose to The Darkness! Firstly, I could have predicted that if I watched the Brit Awards; and secondly, The Darkness? They kick ass and the Sugababes shake assthere is quite a difference.  Is it because their weather is so dreary? Is that why they insist on churning out these cookie cutter dance acts? What are the girls of the Sugababes (Keisha, Mutya & Heidi) going to do in 6 months when their big single Hole in the Head goes to pot? Apparently, their PR team thinks they are going to be round for a long time, witness quote from website Out of little Sugababes, world-conquering, superfine soul star Sugaladies grow. This is just gross.  The single was recently shipped for US airplay be afraid.

I can totally appreciate a wicked good pop tune when I hear one, but this is just a teenage version of every other Euro dance band that wasnt good, ever.  I suggest you do not purchase this record unless you plan on moving abroad.
